Before and After Retouching
One of the best ways to see what a retoucher is capable of, and what retouching has been done is by looking through some before and after retouching samples. Here you can compare the two images and see what the retoucher had to do: image extensions, rig removal, illustration, color treatment, sky replacement, weather conversion, general clean up, are all present in the before and after retouching samples here.
Although these before and after retouching samples can be composite images as well, they don’t have to be. Some the images are made with only the “before” image, with the rest of the work being cloning or illustration from the original. Some have a base image that contains the majority of the image and provides a starting point from which to add layers and retouching in order to make the final “after” image. Either way, this kind of presentation can allow a glimpse behind the curtain to see what kind of retouching has been done.
